Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Quito

You will be picked-up at Quito airport by your private certified guide and he will take you to the hotel. For Dinner, you have several options in town to choose from, ask our guides or staff for their currents favorite spots 🙂

Day 2City line (City tour & Middle of the World)

Quito, the capital of Ecuador is one of the most beautiful cities in Ecuador with the colonial area which was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978 because it has one of largest and the best preserved Historic Center in America.

In our tour we will visit the main places like Basilica del Voto Nacional where we will have an explanation of the its gothic style and its facade, then we will walk from Plaza de la Independencia to San Francisco church exploring the streets and the typical lifestyle of this area, also you will visit La Compañía church where the guide will tell you about the interesting history of the building. All
these sites as highlights of the Old Town.

You will also visit a traditional market to taste different kind of fruits where the guide will tell you about the diversity and richness of each region here in Ecuador.

Afterwards we will go in the way to La Mitad del Mundo, known because you can stand in both hemispheres at the same time. We will also visit Intiñan Museum where you will learn about the culture, traditions of the different regions and you will participate in interesting experiments to demonstrate the special location where you are.

We will be back in your hotel around 17h00.

Day 3Otavalo

When you visit Otavalo Market, you will admire the details of every handicraft that you see. This day is a combination of culture and nature. Once we leave Quito heading to the north area of Ecuador, you can see a landscape full of flower plantations. You will make a stop at Quitsato museum to learn about the equator. Afterwards you will taste the bizcochos, a typical biscuit of Cayambe town, also famous because of the milk production like cheese and yogurt.

In the way to Otavalo, the guide will tell you about the history, culture, traditions, economy of this area of the country. Once you are in Otavalo, you will have enough time to explore the market. You can find different designs and style of handicrafts. Saturday is the day when most of the artisans come here to offer you their art.

Later, you will continue to Cotacachi town known due to the leather clothes, and our last stop will be Cuicocha Lagoon which is inside of an ancient volcano and two small islands are located in the middle of the lagoon.

Day 4Cotopaxi

Cotopaxi is one of the most amazing places in the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Its perfect shape as snow cone that rises to 5897 meters makes him unique in the world.

While you visit the National Park, you could see wild horses, llamas, condors and many species of birds combined with the stunning landscape surrounded by endemic vegetation that changes while you head up to the parking lot. After this drive, you have the chance to hike up to the refuge (300 meters up) which is located at 4810m.

Depending on weather conditions, it´s possible to continue to the glaciers at 5000m. You will reach high altitude during this day, so recommend you to be prepared with warm clothes and an adequate acclimatization.

Day 5: Quilotoa - Baños

One of the most stunning places in the Andean region is the Quilotoa lagoon. You will love the colour of the water inside of the crater combined with the shapes of the clouds.

The way to Quilotoa is very interesting because you will see some Andean villages with the indigenous daily lifestyle and their local clothing. You can visit local markets every Thursday (Saquisilí) and Sunday (Pujilí) to see the products of this area.

Once you are in the viewpoint of Quilotoa, you have enough time to walk down to the lagoon, take a rest or rent a kayak enjoying of the stunning landscape. It´s possible to rent mules to go up to the viewpoint.

Afterwards, we will continue to Baños, famous for the adventure activities.

Day 6: Baños

Baños is a small town surrounded by beautiful landscape. It´s known as Gateway to the Amazon and also famous due to the extreme sports and adventure. You will find many waterfals formed by Pastaza River, an impressive scenery while you explore this area. You can enjoy outdoor activities, visit the famous Church of the Virgin, play in the Swing of the End of the World, relax in
hotspring and walk in the small streets trying typical food and handicrafts. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 7:Baños – Return to Quito. END OF SERVICES.

After a delicious breakfast, we will go ahead to Quito.
