The diving sites of the Galapagos Islands are one of the most spectacular big fish diving areas in the world. The Galapagos are volcanic, oceanic Islands, which aren’t connected to the continent. Upward currents from the deep water create a nutritious and appealing environment for many marine animals and therefore bloom with life.
The biggest attractions are hammerhead shark schools, Galapagos sharks, sea lions, sea turtles and rays in huge schools. In some places you can see penguins, iguanas, ocean sunfish and seahorses.
In particular, June to October is the best time to see whale sharks on Wolf Island and Darwin Island. This dive sites are only for experienced divers, as there are strong currents and it’s challenging to dive there. Furthermore you can go to these sites just with a dive cruise, which is more expensive than a hotel based tour. Please contact us, if you are interested.
